EU Data Act – General Information and Data Protection Notice
The EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854) comprehensively regulates access to data as well as rights to data generated through the use of so-called connected products (e.g., charging stations, vehicles) and related services (e.g., apps).
The objective of the regulation is to create fairer, more transparent, and innovation-friendly framework conditions for the use of both non-personal and personal data within the EU.

User Types

Business Users

Third Parties

Public Authorities

Data Protection under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
When we process your personal data in connection with the EU Data Act, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – GDPR) continue to apply.
Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH has appointed VW GIS AG as a data processor responsible for operating the above-mentioned portal and for providing the data required under the EU Data Act. For this cooperation, all data processing agreements required under the GDPR have been concluded, and appropriate technical and organizational measures have been implemented.
