"With Elli Mobility GmbH, we are combining people and products that perfectly complement each other"

Elli and LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH are merging to form the new Elli Mobility GmbH. What does this mean for Volkswagen employees and company car drivers? Joschi Jennermann (CEO) and Sebastian Steffen (CFO) share insights in a joint interview.

Big news: LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, and Elli are merging to form the new Elli Mobility GmbH. Starting in March 2025, the new company will consolidate all charging and fueling services for electric, hybrid, and combustion vehicles under one roof.

The new Elli Mobility GmbH will be led by CEO Joschi Jennermann (l.) and CFO Sebastian Steffen. But what does this new entity mean for Volkswagen employees and company car drivers? The two new leaders provide answers in a joint interview.

Mr. Jennermann, Mr. Steffen, the consolidation of fueling and charging services within Elli Mobility GmbH marks a key step for the Volkswagen Group in offering seamless mobility services to business and private customers transitioning to e-mobility. What does this new entity mean for Volkswagen employees and company car drivers?

Joschi Jennermann: With Elli Mobility GmbH, we are combining people and products that perfectly complement each other. For our customers, Volkswagen employees, and especially for company car drivers, this means: eventually having ONE combined charging and fuel card, offering greater convenience and better integration of mobility services. With a single contractual partner, we will soon cover all needs related to charging, fueling, and car washing. Our goal is to simplify the daily life of fleet drivers and ensure seamless mobility—whether the vehicle is electric, hybrid, or still powered by a combustion engine.

Sebastian Steffen: In addition, consolidating activities into a single unit enables us to realize valuable synergies. By reducing redundancies within the Group, we can make our services more efficient. This allows us to introduce new digital solutions and provide our loyal users with an expanded product portfolio and Europe-wide services.

How is the merger being carried out, and what will happen to the employees at Elli and LOGPAY Transport?

Sebastian Steffen: From a corporate perspective, the LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH shares will be transferred to Volkswagen Group Charging in March (estimate), and the company will be renamed Elli Mobility GmbH. Later in the year, Elli’s mobility and fleet products will also be integrated into the new entity. It’s a complex process aimed at ensuring "Day-1 readiness."

Joschi Jennermann: We are currently in the middle of this exciting journey. Considering that we received Board approvals for the merger at the end of October, the progress we’ve made is truly a sprint. We are incredibly proud of the entire LOGPAY and Elli teams for their enthusiasm, courage, dedication, and the pragmatic approach they’ve brought to the table. Everyone is working hand in hand to make the idea of offering all fueling and charging services from a single source a reality in record time.

3. Do you have a message for the new colleagues transitioning from LOGPAY Transport to Elli Mobility GmbH?

Joschi Jennermann: Absolutely! A very warm welcome to Team Elli! We are thrilled to have you on board and to work together to strengthen Volkswagen’s position in the mobility services market. Your expertise and experience are invaluable assets to our shared vision.

Sebastian Steffen: I completely agree! We truly value the outstanding work you’ve done so far and look forward to collaborating with you to make mobility simpler and more sustainable.
